We are blinkered and dogmatic. We would rather electrocute ourselves than spend time in our own thoughts. We are vain and overconfident. We are moral hypocrites. We are all potential trolls. We favour ineffective leaders with psychopathic traits. We are sexually attracted to people with dark personality traits. less

Women optimize men. Men are an aberration of the basic human form, which is female. Essentially pure in action, thought, and intention, women train the male to become men. From mother, in preparation for and then from, wife. To use the power and drive males were given/born with to advance the progress of civilization, should they be so wise as to listen. Women are powerful and make progress but must navigate a not-yet fully developed socialization wherein there are still men who have not been properly trained in empathy, loss of greed and other immoral pursuits that continue to plague society and nature.
Further study – History of the development of socialization and of societal laws governing protection of others. History of human rights.
Original note – Women are the glue of society. Without them as they are, men would be running around raping women and killing each other too much. Women grease the wheels of communication with empathy less

There are now diminishingly few people who remember that day directly. But it turns out that the phenomenon of a “flashbulb memory” is not that reliable, anyways.I was 3 years and 10 months old and I was on a tire swing by a country house after my parents car broke down and they called the nearest gas station and the attendance said JFK was dead. less

One of the Grand kids noticed the Christmas snow globe on the kitchen table and asked his mother who the photo of the baby in the snow globe was. And she told him she didn’t know. I said – that’s the Christmas snow globe you gave us 7 years ago – I always assumed it was a photo of our Grand daughter. Turned out the kid in the globe came with the globe – like how sometimes a picture frame comes with a sample photo of a family in it. For 7 years I gave that snow globe a special Christmas spot because I figured the photo was our Grand daughter so I felt pretty silly. Cheers! less

The judge concluded that Trump had engaged in insurrection during the Jan. 6th attack on the Capitol. But that it was unclear whether a Civil War-era constitutional amendment barring insurrectionists from public office applied to the presidency. I think it is a - he may of won the battle but he lost the war type of victory. I think the judges ruling will reflect on the case that Jack Smith has going. So Trump will be on the Colorado ballot but if he wins the election he will be serving his term in prison for engaging in a insurrection/treason. Cheers! less

My husband needed to regain online access to his credit card. And the phone numbers they had were all old ones. He hates having to talk to anyone like this. So I called and just said "we" did not have access to the old cell phones and needed to update the number. When he ask my name I just said my husband's expecting him to ask for my husband, he did not. And he changed the number. I was shocked at how easy it was. After I hung up, my husband asked if I noticed how, the guy was having a hard time not saying mame/Mrs/etc. Anyway, my husband got by without having to talk to them. less

It doesn’t really look like we’ve been having world peace for the last 123 years.I see two obvious questions right away. First, I have absolutely no idea how people even get that out of the Bible. I’ve read it and I would never come up with that in a million years.Second, if it’s true, what happened on 1 December 1900 at 14:40 GMT? How did we miss Judgement Day?If you project back the dates of the events in the Bible, the first day of Creation would have been 20 October 4101 BCE at 16:00 GMT. One year is 365 days, 5 hours, 59 minutes and 16 seconds so when I add those two together, I get 1 December 1900 at 14:40 GMT. less

The unit for energy is the joule. The kilowatt measures power, which is energy divided by time, but a kilowatt hour is energy divided by time then multiplied by time so time drops out and energy is all that’s left. So, why not cut out the middleman and just bill electricity in joules instead of kilowatt hours? less

I’m asking because I thought it was usually 20 A for countries with 120 V mains electricity and 15 A for countries with 230 V mains electricity.
Anyway, I posted a link in a reply to Danny that basically asks an electrician the same question that Danny asked here, but the question was from a Canadian (Canada uses the same mains electricity as the USA), but the asker on that website has a 15 A circuit breaker in his house. less

We found a way to get it done and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.”
