what does it mean when you get an email saying someone attempted to get into your yahoo acct?

did they have my password and were trying to hack into it or what? i changed my password, is that why its working better now?

    I had a friend who had that happen. Some hacker in Romania was trying to breach his account.

    These things are often scams trying to hack your account, but e-mail companies do sometimes send genuine ones. Usually, they block your account for a while until you change your password, if it is genuine.
