Is anyone else a fan of shriekback's "Big Night Music" album?

The album consistently remains in my "Top Five Best Albums I've Heard" list.

I plan on including two songs from the album, though one might be a separate answer.

"underwaterboys" here

and "Black Light Trap" in an answer

    Excellent, Glis!
I don't know if you posted the song because you liked it or not, ha!
But I'm an idiot sometimes! I've always liked this "Nemesis" song and only because of your post here do I now know that the song is by Shriekback! I never knew!
That song is not on the "Big Night Music" album but I'm really glad you answered and posted!

  • I like some of their stuff, some  meh.  I was a 90's rivethead and all my goth friends were really into them.  I liked them too just not as big.  I saw them  once, I think with Sisters of Mercy.

WOW.   I am a fan now.

This is very 80's done 2016 style.   I love this.  And the photography is so good.  You found another gem, Welby.

Thanks, Sharonna, I'm glad you liked the songs! The album, like I said, is such a favorite of mine.
And you tapped into the right decades - - their "Big Night Music" album (from which the songs I posted came) was released in 1986. And, yes, it still sounds timeless in 2016, yet, still very 80's to me, too.

And I assume you were talking about the photography from the "Underwaterboys" video being good. A friend once told me that most of -- maybe all? -- of the footage is from a theatrically-released film that has nothing to do with this song. I forget the name of the movie, though! I think it was a science fiction movie.

    Thanks, again!
    :)

OH! And the song Glis posted is not from "Big Night Music" but I like it a lot, too.

That movie was a portrait of lonely.  I wanted to off myself after watching that one.

It was a masterpiece.  Here, look at these cute stars and cheer up.

Oh I would NEVER try and top those.   Maybe the knickers might do it but I am no copy-cat.   And trash bags are already taken.

What to do.   What to do.  How about thimbles?   Or ben-wa balls?

They actually have pot candy now.  No worries about being stopped with those mixed into regular jelly bellies, etc.

    Not that I would know.

Sounds like a movie I might do well to avoid presently.

NOTE: My comment here was not supposed to end up in this place. I was talking about the Al movie. This post was edited by WelbyQuentin at November 27, 2016 7:12 PM MST

Yes, I like them quite a lot. I recommend that entire album. 'Nemesis' is not on the album but I like that song, too.
Thanks for listening to the music and answering my question, WingedWonder.
