Well once I met a guy that had just moved to my community and eventually he told me he was looking for some inexpensive pot to help him beat his alcohol problem. So I started giving him a free bag of bud trimmings ever couple of weeks and after a year or so he lost his desire to drink then eventually he stopped smoking pot too. Might of been a crime but it worked so I'm happy about it. Cheers!

Not a complete stranger, but a nice gesture anyway.

No he was a complete stranger to me - when I first seen him he was sitting on a bench at a bus stop and he had the Jimmy leg thing going on. So I sat down and talked to him and he mentioned he was looking for some pot to take the edge off (alcohol cravings). So I gave him some of my product and told him I'll see him at the same place and same time next week and give him a bit more. I also told him that if he tried to sell the pot to buy alcohol I'd hear about it which in a round about way was helpful because it pointed out that there can be coincidences in giving into cravings. Cheers! This post was edited by Nanoose at December 16, 2016 6:03 PM MST

    I have gave a few $20 handshakes.
A few years ago in the grocery store parking lot, we seem a young couple having car issues looked like battery problems. They went in and we put a $100 bill in an envelope wrote Jesus loves you on it and put it under the windshield wiper. We waited.....to make sure they found it. They looked around trying to see if they could figure out who left it. They then gave each other a hug and drove away with a huge smile on their faces.

I have found it is more rewarding to be able to help when nobody can see who helped.

  • That's because for real, needed help the help is the thing, not the giver or where it came from.  Just as it doesn't matter to those helped who did the good deed, it shouldn't matter to the giver that they are recognised.  The gift is all of the reward in and of itself.  :)

I helped save an much older man back to shore who was being swept out to sea by a run-out.  I don't think he would have drowned.  He was obese and could have floated all the way to Spain.

It was still kind of you to save him the train fare to get back home.

Funny, you don't look like you have a sense of humor.

  •  In my early 20's I helped an ex move out of our apartment by throwing all his stuff off our balcony.  we lived together for about 6 months , but looking back we never talked much ... So that's kinda like a  stranger:)

In the early 60s I saw a woman with a flat tire, people were driving past her without offering to help, so I changed it for her which she appreciated, she was a black woman, I hope that wasn't the reason no one helped, shame on them if it was.

Good for you! I've had strangers help me in that situation and I know how much it is appreciated.

Sure.  I gave a drug addict on the street 10 bucks.    It came back to me in my own time of need.
