Do you have favorite duets featuring artists whom you didn't expect to sing together?

One of my most favorites (and I may add others as individual answers) is
"Hey Good Lookin'" featuring Buckwheat Zydeco and Dwight Yoakam.
They ROCK together!

Playing this song just now, I discovered that Buckwheat Zydeco (Stanley Joseph Dural, Jr, I believe; I'm a big Dwight fan, so I'm unsure of Stanley's full name) died in September of this year. I love Yoakam and this song introduced me to Buckwheat Zydeco.

Willie seems to be drowning out Julio a bit, ha!
    :)
I can't hear Julio so well.

A great answer! I'd not think of them singing together!

Hi excon - - I know you said hi to Jane but I thank you for answering my question!
    :)

I've always liked this duet. I only have the studio album/CD version of it. I haven't seen/heard them do it "live," so to speak.

No worries, excon! I just didn't want to barge on in without saying why!
    :)
And let me be the one to apologize if I earlier came across as pushy.

    Hi excon,
I again read my other apology posting and even that strikes me as arrogant a bit. Sorry about that if it came across that way. Or maybe I'm just being hyper-sensitive about my written words today.

That's OK, excon! I knew you were talking to me. And you've always been nice to me, so you can call me whatever you wish.

That was made by sampling Nat King Cole's vocals from the original recording.

I've never heard of The KLF but I'm out of he loop quite often.
    I like the song, though!
    :)
I wouldn't have thought Wynette as a likely collaborator with this musical genre. I give her and The KLF kudos for going for it! I like when people get together in unexpected ways.

I absolutely LOVE "Justified And Ancient", I just caught a glimpse of this discussion on the home page so I just had to comment on it. It's one of those songs that's guaranteed to always put me in a great mood. I wish I could give that posting of it 100 "likes". Lol:)

Happy New Year, folks!:) This post was edited by Crazychick at January 1, 2017 6:05 AM MST

Hi Crazychick! All the credit for the posting of the song goes to WingedWonder!
    :)
I myself had never heard of this song until just now. I really like it, though, too! It made me feel invigorated!

It's great, isn't it? I remember it when I was a child, it was a hit in the early 1990s. I used to hear it on the radio then. It still gets played a lot in clubs that have 1990s nights. I enjoy those because I like a lot of 1990s music. :)

Hey, is that image photoshopped? The face looks male but that's the only thing that does. My apologies to Tammy if that is her face!

    Yes!
    :)

And, in a purely selfish way ~ in case you haven't,  I encourage you to go check out the Pet Shop Boys' "Go West" that I posted under one of your comments earlier in this thread. It's not a duet but it's one of my favorite Pet Shop Boys songs --  and I love the video.
And if you already are familiar with the song and video, please disregard this message, ha!

"Ain't it the truth? Ain't it the truth?" Preach it my brother!
    :)

Thanks for letting me know you are familiar with the song.
    (I like their "It's a Sin" a lot, too.)

We connect again -- those are the words that first struck me when I first heard the song and they still do always whenever I listen.

Very smooth transition to the song, there, WW! Ha! Excellent!

No offense to Stacey Q - - but I was trying to get a closer look at the guys in the background but she kept hogging the camera.

"Shake Your Head" by Was (Not Was) featuring Ozzy Osbourne and Kim Basinger. Doesn't sound a very likely combination, but it's a great record. Enjoy! :)

    This is fun, yes!
I'm unsure where Osbourne and Basinger come in but that might be what makes it fun. I'm not familiar with Osbourne's music that much nor Basinger's movies, so their voices aren't on my radar of familiar voices.
    :)

I like the "Born to Laugh at Tornadoes," too.

"Born to Laugh at Tornadoes" was the title of the album. "Shake Your Head" is an earlier version on the album, not as good as the single version I posted. I'm not a fan of Ozzy Osbourne myself, I've never been into that hard rock/heavy metal stuff, but for some reason Was (Not Was) got him to sing on that song. I dunno why they got Kim Basinger to sing on it either, but hey, who cares why? It's such a great song it doesn't really matter who sings on it. Lol:)
