After he is dead the families of his victims can put an end to their ordeal once and for all.  We hope. Manson kept alive by the power of Satan. May it not be long lasting and in accordance to the will of Jehovah God. This post was edited by O-uknow at January 7, 2017 8:00 PM MST

He's an old man who has been punished.  In the end he will have to face his Maker.  So why not let him go free for now.

  • Of course not. His victims never had the opportunity to reach old age.

The quality of mercy is not strained.

  • I wouldn't strain it too much for this guy. He was a young psychopath; now he's an old psychopath. I'd leave him where he belongs.

Old psychopaths never die, they just go on parole.

No, he should not be pardoned.

He was properly convicted of the crimes he was accused of, and I am unaware of any substantial exculpatory evidence. Nor, given the magnitude of his crimes, do I believe he has suffered an excessive sentence.

If you wish to argue the 82-year-old Manson is too feeble to likely commit further crimes and, therefore, should be transferred to some form of low-cost minimal security incarceration, that's a discussion I would entertain.

But legal pardons should be reserved for those who have been wronged by our legal system in some way, not used on guilty criminals who have grown old serving out their sentences.

He knows no other life now.  We can just feed him until he dies.
