You come home after a long hard day and sit on the couch. What music are you likely to be listening to?

Could be anything - as long as it's not the vapid pop called "R&B" (I like Rhythm and Blues), rap or similar paens to manufactured inability!

Most of my music comes from the radio and I listen selectively so it might be an opera, the said rhythm-&-blues, folk, Baroque, obscure avant-garde jazz-rock (though that's usually late-night, not early-evening), a Romantic concerto (Rachmaninov, say) or Modern symphony (Sibelius or Holst for example), jazz, contemporary (sometimes premiered) orchestral, some Musical standards, rock...

Oh, and I like to relax but I'm not normally a couch-potato.

I really like the last movement of Holst's "The Planets" ~ 'Neptune, the Mystic.'

If I'm on the couch then the TV would be on, I usually watch some hilarious program to make me relaxed;))

I have no TV but the BBC Radio Four 6.30pm comedy slot usually tickles my fancy for half an hour while I dine!

I let myself down this week.

Only found out near the end of the programme this evening that one of my favourite composers, Sibelius, had been "Composer Of The Week" this week, and I don't know if I can use the BBC's on-line "Listen Again" service! The programme is a 5-day serial biography of the week's subject, illustrated with his or her music.

Must remember to buy the Radio Times regularly - it's the ONLY listings magazine I know of, to help you choose by telling you more than just titles and times of radio programmes.
