Do you think God/the universe could have existed like as a oneness; a unity -from the infinite past?

Law of the Conservation of Energy indicates proven fact that the universe always existed;  could not have been 'created'

    Scientist seem to be split?

[In his book Black Holes and Baby Universes and Other Essays, published in 1993, prominent physicist Stephen Hawking concluded that “science could predict that the universe must have had a beginning.”]

The beginning of the material universe from nothing? How about a quantum state of zero dimension which is not exactly nothing.
Time cannot have a beginning because a beginning is an element of time so time would already have to exist in order to enable a beginning to occur so time and energy/matter would co-exist in infinity.
Our universe is bound to begin to shrink eventually into another 'big crunch' because there is a black hole at the center of just about every galaxy consuming it and eventually all that matter, then gravity will pull all these well fatted yet ever starving greedy black holes together into the final big crunch and  into ANOTHER state of zero dimension and another repeat big bang.
Energy cannot be lost via repeated big bangs when the Law of the Conservation of Energy /matter is in effect. This post was edited by Kittigate at January 12, 2017 7:07 AM MST

I feel like there has always been something rather just empty space or whatever. Not sure what counts as the universe as expanding or shrinking or how "Our universe is bound to begin to shrink eventually". Of course I haven't really researched any of it other than a quick google search.

Says space/time began at the event of the big bang as if gravitational forces of a black could have an effect on something that is non material. Gravity cannot have a pull effect on space/time to be content of a  black hole. However gravity does demonstrate a push effect that can bend space.
The material of the universe has expanded at present across a distance of about 10 billion light years into the infinity of space. Possible that expansion may not cease. This post was edited by Kittigate at January 12, 2017 8:23 AM MST

Kittigate, according to the Bible God created the heavens (universe) and the earth. Which tells me that God and the universe did not coexist. Even science says that the universe had a beginning. Of course science substitutes "chance" for God in the beginnings of this universe. In my opinion though, it takes a lot more faith to believe this universe began by chance than by a Creator.

Universe did not begin according to the Law of the Conservation of Energy -indicates proven fact that the universe always existed in some form .  Matter/energy cannot be created or destroyed.
Time cannot have a beginning because a beginning is an element of time so time would already have to exist in order to enable a beginning to occur.

At a simple logical level, we don't need to have both God and the universe to have always existed. We need only God, by definition, to have always existed. Everything else was then decreed to have a beginning by this God. Nothing wrong with that, is there?

time without events is meaningless. Time would have to start with the first event.

To say the universe had no beginning and then argue that God needs to have a beginning is inconsistent.

it is simpler to think of God as timeless and the initiator of the universe plus time through the so called Big Bang.

Events are what creates the illusion of time. Time is static -everything revolves around time in a relative way.

The slower your motion in space the faster events happen until you are at absolute rest then events will happen so rapidly that your life could begin, you celebrate all your birthdays and then die at the same instant.

The faster you travel through space the slower events happen until you reach the speed of light then all events  (in your body ) cease. If you travel at the speed of light for a year and return to Earth you will not have aged.

Time actually exists in a quantum state where the infinite past and infinite future exist in the present tense; infinity of time would measure zero if elapsing time existed.

I am not suggesting a reopening of this discussion but I've just seen the above very interesting post of yours and thought I'd give it a thumbs up and in respect of your comment that "Time actually exists in a quantum state where the infinite past and infinite future exist in the present tense" say that we view God's Omniscience in that light, meaning that to Him "the infinite past and infinite future exist in the present tense" This is alluded to in HQ 2:255 which says that "He [God] knows all that lies before men [their future] and all that is behind them [their past]"

It is possible that in a subconscious state a person's mind could be exposed to a future event.  People experience that sort of thing -it is not that rare a person has a vision during dream time that comes to be a reality the following day or so; Abe Lincoln foreseeing the event of his own funeral 10 days before he was assassinated. Some of the bible prophecies being events that did occur.

'Course God knows the future but he's not telling. Maybe if you meditate deeply enough you might achieve a glimpse of some future event but maybe only a few people have a brain suitably constructed to enable that to happen. This post was edited by Kittigate at March 31, 2017 6:44 PM MDT
