    Politicians do not pay for such trips at all. Well maybe if they go bar hopping in the evening. but any scheduled part of the trip is paid.

    Taxpayers pay for it JakobA. When pols travel worldwide, ostensibly on fact-finding trips but really just to get a fancy vacation at taxpayer expense they have to stay somewhere. A hotel. What hotel? Who makes those arrangements?  Taxpayers pay for everything. Nothing is free. Where does the money go? Who makes the reservations? How many millions of dollars each year are wasted on fun and games for the pol and nothing for the taxpayer? Inquiring minds wanna know!
