There is a serious situation in Gambia. What role does prez Trump plan to play in this international problem? Why?

Gambian prez Yahya Jammeh refuses to leave office. He has held power for 22 years and lost an election last month to Adama Barrow. Barrow is due to be sworn in today, Thursday. Troops are ready to forcibly remove Jammeh. We currently have someone whose job it is to oversee African affairs. Tomorrow that job will be  vacant because Trump has not filled it nor many other jobs on the Security Council. He hasn't gotten around to it yet. So he will have no one to talk to about what we should do. Does he even know who Jammeh is or where Gambia is or what is involved? Originally Jammeh conceded the election to Barrow. Then he changed his mind and said he will not leave office.

So what do you want us to do? What should Obama have done?
Why not leave it to the country and the surrounding counties who have an alliance. (Economic Community of West African States)
