What is the point of cheer leaders? Can't you cheer on your own?

    The uniforms and other equipment.  The travel expenses for games and competitions.  We didn't have extra money for things like this.  I wasn't able to be in Girl Scouts either.  In junior varsity we sewed our own cheerleading outfits and mothers volunteered driving us to games and other functions.  It changed when we went to high school.  Sports are expensive, but worth every penny for those who can afford it.
