What song saved you today?

By chance, this song came on the car radio. It helped me to relax.

~ "Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds
~ Simple Minds is my favorite group
~ lead vocalist Jim Kerr's voice just melts me in the best ways
~ possibly this song may be their most famous but they have so much more music

Anna Nalick's "Breathe" came on the radio, too.
    That song helps me, too.

    Hi Rooster!
    Thanks for answering!
I just realized that I'm late and need to leave now. I'll come back later and listen to your song -- I don't know it, I don't think!
    :)

  • Good song! Had a little run-in this morning so it describes my feelings at the moment!

You've offered an intriguing comment, considering the song!
    :)

I've not heard the song before. It has a nice groove!
    :)
    Thanks, Jaimie!

Yes or Okay in Jamaican English.

  • Yes, I understand the music is Canadian and before you posted this song I had never heard of it.  So you did good.
The "word," on the other hand is Jamaican. One of my favorite Disney movies is "Cool Runnings" and the word is used
a BUNCH of times during the story/film.

  • One more point to clear up for me.  "Underground" ... sounds like it's suppose to be a secret and here you are trying spread the word. I know you're probably too young to have heard this, but many people believe that Bruce Lee (and you may not know him either) got himself killed for doing the very same thing with his country's Martial Arts secrets.

So are you really brave and not afraid of the Canadian Mafia or does "underground" mean something different when it comes to music?

Well, hello there, WelbyQuentin! You have asked such a great, intriguing question! And here I am with another answer.

Today one song saved me twice! I heard it by chance twice on different stations. And what a coincidence! The title of the song uses the same word you use in your question!

    I love this song!

"How To Save a Life" by The Fray

UPDATE!! I have never seen the music video to this song until just now. I got halfway through and had to write this. What a heart-breaking video! I have chills and almost tears. What a marvelously well-chosen cast!

And here I am answering my own question again. I may be breaking the site rules, yikes.
    :)

But yesterday this song came on the car radio.
    At just the right moment.

(And the official music video to the song has quite a powerful message.)
