Could you recommend the best beer for someone who's completey new to beer?

preferably flavored ones.

  • LOL I'd be happy to help.. but as I am a Brit you will not have heard of most of them.. and sometimes what you call beer we call lager etc etc.. but leaving that aside I am very fond of Peroni, which is Italian, I also like Tequila beer that's yummy.

  • We have a lot of flavoured ciders here, they have become very popular.. one of the latest I tried was toffee apple cider.. that was awesome.. my fav flavoured cider is strawberry and Lime.

  • My favorite beer is Yuengling. They make many types of beer but I prefer their good old lager.

    Generally beers don't have "flavors".  Do you really want a regular beer or something that is beer like with a sweet taste to it? 

    If you want to add flavor to a beer, try a lime wedge in any beer of your choosing.  Or you could try a Blue Moon which has a minor hint of orange and add an orange slice to it.  

    If you aren't used to drinking beer and are looking for a sweet tasting flavored one try Lindeman's Framboise Lambic Beer.  It is a 12 oz Belgium beer that is raspberry flavored.  Very nice for a starter drink.  But, I have to warn you, it doesn't taste anything like our domestic beers.

  • Oooh that reminds me that I once had a strawberry beer in a restaurant in Brighton in the UK... it was unbelievable!!

    I was in England during the summer I was 15.  I remember buying Lime Lagers in cans at a local shop.  No one stopped me!  I loved those!  Maybe that is what the poster should be trying or a Shandy lemonade! ;)

    Lowenbrau on tap. Smooth and creamy (as beers go). I don't know what a "flavored" beer would be.

    Isn't that one of those newfangled fruity la-la drinks that have to be consumed tiny sips at a time with one's pinky extended high in the air?
    (I'm a non-drinker, so I don't know.)

  • Blue Moon, Newcastle, Killians and one called Conways from Great Lakes Brewery....those are all good beers.

    I'll have a Vernor's Ginger Ale. Created in Detroit before the automobile. There is a major street in Detroit for hookers named after this tasty beverage.
