What's the most you've paid or would pay for a cup of coffee?

At a place called Extraction Lab on Brooklyn's Sunset Park/Industry City waterfront, you can get a 12-ounce cup for $14.75!

  • I am known to be very stingy when it comes to money... we have a machine at work that dispenses lattes etc.. and that's 90p (UK money) a cup.. personally I think that's outrageous enough!  I think the most I have paid here in the UK is about £3.69 a cup.

$4.00 for a cup of espresso at a coffee shop near our farmer's market. It would have been OK but there wasn't even a shot glass amount.

I love coffee, but I'd pass, under any circumstances, on that $14.75 price.  Maybe  $1.50 max.

I Wouldn't allow another to purchase a cup for me, at that price. This post was edited by Beans/SilentGeneration at February 12, 2017 1:37 PM MST

    about two bucks a cup
    for just coffee...No lattes,
is pretty much what it goes for around here.
My Chinese bakery for $1.85 for 12 oz
    of Peet's coffee.

  • I wouldn't and haven't paid more than $2 for a cup of java. I don't drink any fancy schmancy stuff, just plain old black coffee for me.

  • There's a Starbucks in the lobby of the hospital I work at, so when I'm having a tough day, and need a few minutes off the floor, I go to Starbucks and yes, pay the going rate for a cup of coffee....Id drink the coffee that we have on the floor but it's what I call...umm...gross!

That price is ridiculous, but unfortunately believable for NY. I was charged $8 for a bottle of Aquafina at JFK. I buy a medium (20 oz) caramel iced coffee, at DD for 99 cents. But it's only about a 10 0z coffee in reality, the other half is ice. I don't go to Starbucks because it's too strong, and too expensive for you can get much cheaper at Dunkin.
