Why are Syrian refugees banned from the US indefinitely, by the Trump administration?

What have those people done that such severe consequences are given to them?

It's only temporary, unless you are willing to support them. we tax payers can't.

  • Just an independent objective observation here... there is no reason to assume that anyone who says or supports the opinion expressed by the original poster, doesn't pay taxes, or that you speak for all, or even most tax payers. Just being logical and truthful here.. I know that tends not to go down well.

    There is NO permanent ban.

All Trump put in place ... or tried to, anyway ... is a temporary ban until we can put stricter screening in place.

And the ban wasn't supposed to affect those who already had entry visas (allegedly - according to the Administration).

  • Just to play devil's advocate here...  a ban, be it temporary, or otherwise is probably of very little comfort to people dying and without anywhere to go

    True, that.

The REAL problem is ... so few people realize all the events of our actions and reactions in the Middle East are tied together.  The vast majority of people think of everything as separate incidents.  But it's been one long chain of reactionary F**K UPS since (at least) 1956.

We don't need businessmen or military personnel or diplomats advising the President on the Middle East.
We need historians, who have seen the "big picture" and can explain how it is all related.
They may not be able to say how to get out of it - but at least they would honestly say so.  Unlike every other Presidential advisor we've had in the last 60 years.

Well, seen as the United States is not the only other country in the world, there must be other options for them to choose from. But nobody is calling other countries out on it, are they?

President Chump wants them to be vetted more extremely. These guys who are getting visas to enter the USA have waited seven years, in some cases. What could it be necessary to do that you could not accomplish in seven years?
