Cremation or burial?

Which is the most practical? Which do you prefer? Or would you prefer a Viking send-off, set adrift in a blazing longboat?

Since cremation is cheaper, I'll choose that and my ashes spread over the Potomac River.

  • I've got my spot picked out, too, but it's nowhere you've ever heard of.

I'm going to be on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge most likely. I mean whoever dumps my ashes.

Cremation is quicker, cheaper and saves on space. I want to be cremated. Light a cigarette, place it in my stiff hand, close the casket and play "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash, please.

  • My word! What a way to go.
Hmm, I suppose i should have left the option of being entombed in a pyramid.

  • I prefer burial. For personal and religious reasons.

  • I don't really care one way or the other.  Feed me to wild wolves for all I care. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at February 18, 2017 3:50 PM MST

That every Hyacinth the Garden wears
Dropt in its Lap from some once lovely Head.”

i would rather be cremated and spread somewhere. i don't like the thought of body slowly rotting in a whole in the ground.

  • Doesn't appeal to me, either. Of course, I'll already have gone so it doesn't really matter.

  • Growing up in England I heard real horror stories about the crematorium which have stayed with me so definitely no cremation for me.  I always thought I'd like to be entombed in one of those mausoleums with air conditioning and elevator music.
