  • "I don't think that's it."
As a teenager, we know everything and there isn't any room for more knowledge until we get old enough to start forgetting things. :)

  • No ... Don't agree. The things my parent ( mom)  said to me reached me deeply and Is  why I moved  province at age 16. Still sorting out things said to me in my youth ... Cos I said so.

No, mach 1 is over 700 mph close to 800. Fast enough, so the problem is not in speed. Not in recording. Not in hearing but in understanding perhaps due to lack of maturity.

Agree lack of understanding or pretending that it is not audible...obstinacy strikes teenagers like a virus;))

  • I totally agree and, as a parent, it's nice to know when your kids finally prove that they DID hear you. Case in point: While visiting my son, I left the front door open and he yelled, "yo, are you trying to heat the whole neighborhood?" It was the exact same thing that I yelled at him when he was a yon teen.

  • Raising kids is like flying a hang glider. Too much pressure on the control bar and the thing is going to respond dangerously; too much advice to a teen and it becomes white noise, washing past the ears without reaching the brain. I can say from my experience with five kids that they all found their feet. Eventually. Most of them are in their 50s now and are far beyond wanting any input from me.

However, humans are not the only creatures who need time to work out what's happening.

There was a Dachshund, once so long,
    He hadn't any notion
How log it took to notify
    His tail of his emotion;
And so it happened, while his eyes
Were filled with woe and sadness,
Hiss little tail went wagging on
    Because of previous gladness.

Didge, such a unique comparison raising kids is like flying a hang glider...too much advice becomes white noise washing past the ears without reaching the brain;))

Ok, that settles it: I'm hereby officially hiring you as my attorney for the wrongful detention case I want to file against my parents for grounding me when I failed to mow the lawn at age 15. I want my week back, or comparable monetary damages.
(I hope there no statute of limitations on this stuff.  It happened decades ago and they're pretty old now, so let's get these wheels of justice rolling before they kick the bucket.  Go for the collective jugular, Counselor.)

    Signed,
    Loving Son, Randall D
