Why/how did you choose your profession(s)?

"I like making things." (machinist)

It would be more accurate to say that my profession found me.  My high school had a job placement office.  In my senior year, I was sent on an interview for a secretary at a law firm.  I was hired and I've been a legal secretary ever since. 

I guess I sort of fell into it and got good at it after awhile. The rest is history.

Like some others here, I fell into my career(s).  I learned something new with each job I had.
