Wouldn't it be great if sidewalks had a 7ft. solid wall? So you can have some damn privacy from people walking by....

..and make using the sidewalk better as not to be gawked at by weirdos who sit in their front yards starring at you.

I think so.   It would make using the sidewalk better and make using the front yard better.

  • Not a problem where I live as I'm not in the city and not that many people walk on the sidewalks here. Usually just kids going to school or people walking their dogs. I guess in a big city that it would get irritating although I sure don't mind a good looking lady walking by! LOL

  • Going on past experiences.   I might like city and suburban life better if it had those though.

  • I wouldn't mind it either! I get a lot of female joggers that wear hardly nothing. Dirty old man can't help but stare! Although I try to keep the drooling at a minimum.

You could glue some coins to the sidewalk in front of your place.
Extra entertainment watching them try to pick up the coins.

  • Dude,  I know exactly what you mean.   Passing by the yacht hunnies during the summer while gassing and loading supplies for work has developed a strong sideways glance.   I wonder how many of them wonder if I'm really that interested in the dock planks?

There are no sidewalks where I am, but I wouldn't mind a seven-foot privacy fence along the front. This post was edited by Bozette at March 16, 2017 8:19 AM MDT

No, no, no...privacy fence.  Those on the outside cannot see in and those on the inside cannot see out.  ;)

It is cleverly hidden so that only those invited know where it is.  :)

I want more walls. Now! How hard can it be? Let's call a contractor, Trump will handle the expenses somehow... Hey... One bankruptcy covers a lot of expenses and it will be the other suckers paying... Lol.

    Hello Glis:

If you wanna build a wall on your property, I'm in.  But, if you want the city to build a wall on the sidewalk, I'm NOT in.

  • Hey,  they build the damn sidewalks,  they should build a barrier when they appropriate the space from front yard to build them.

Besides, most places have a stupid rule saying you can't build over 5ft.   and have to have it set back a few feet.   That's BS.

    Hello again, Glis:

    Have you tried venetian blinds?

  • They don't work when trying to use a front lawn.  Plus someone might want the windows open.

That doesn't help when walking one and front porch sitters just stare at you.  It's so weird how people sit out front when they got backyards in cities.
