Braille tattoos...

If you could have a tattoo done in Braille what message would you want to pass to somebody close enough to you to feel it?

Could such a message be used by secret societies to identify each other instead of using, say, the Masonic handshake?

  • Ouch! He's obviously one of your protectors, your demigodship.

  • His transformation is nearly complete.   Soon his skin will take on a new hue and the new Purple Overlord Demon will reign in a fresh epoch of untold agony.

Mine would read, "There should be a comma after the word 'Braille'."  It could be the secret signal to my fellow members of the undercover Grammar Police.  Oh, that and the tilde.

  • And so there should, Randy. I found this one the other day and saved it for you. Now seems to be a good time.

  • It's difficult to find topics that will interest our people. Well, difficult for me. If I go for the completely crazy they're gonna get treated that way; if I do the mundane they're gonna be ignored. So I try to find a middle road -- and it's a bumpy old road. Some of them really are whacked out.

    (Who are "our people"?)

  • Muggers, Randy. All and sundry. Present and future included. Tilde fanciers always welcome! (We can forget all those who have morphed into Benedict Arnold.)

I was merely making the point that it's difficult to find questions that sufficient people will find interesting enough to read, or even answer. I'm no longer an Asker, or a Blurter. I've assimilated. So our people is US.

And I've even left you the option of arguing that the final verb should be "our" at which point I'd say that it refers to the TERM "our people" and links that term to the object "US". But I could be wrong. :)

My Braille tattoo would say 'quit touching me'.

Randy D, a lover of language(s), has found a good reason for never having learned to read Braille.

Can you read lips? I'm still saying 'quit touching me'.

Hold still, I'll get around to your lips eventually. Be patient with me; I'm blind, remember?
