Does anyone think it was a good idea for Trump people to blame Brit GCHQ for the alleged tapping of Trump's phone? Is this harmless?

We all know Obama didn't tapp Trump. We all think Trump behaved in a very undignified way in making such rash accusations...  but now it seems to have become even wilder... apparenly Trumpeteers claim now that it was GCHQ..  We assume the Trumpers have done this because factually there would be a trail if Obama had asked your own intelligence services to tapp Trump.. and there IS NO trail...

So GCHQ categorically denies this and say it's nonsense.. well gee no kidding...

But the point is, apart from Trump making himself look even more ridiculous, is that THIS irrational and out of order behaviour has consequences.... As the article today says... this will have an impact on the intelligence sharing between our two countries.. WE do NOT like being falsely accused.. it may be something that happens a lot there and people seem to turn a blind eye to Trump's appalling behaviour there but seriously WE don't like that kind of thing... and as I have said all along one of the biggest dangers of having Trump as Prez is that it will further alienate America as Trump offends just about every other nation.. People who are mistreated and have to endure his false accusations are hardly going to trust Trump and unfortunately Americans get tarred with the same brush as their leader.. It's all most unfortunate

  • LOL In your dreams..  and this is conspiracy theory gone mad... can't prove something happened... go blame someone else, the more unlikely the better..

GCHQ has never been  in the position of being a puppet.. GCHQ is internationally respected and while they might well have very frequently WORKED with American CIA... that's not the same as being under their control.. we have no reason to be controlled by them...we collaborate.. we work with...

WE are NOT Americans.. we have ahem very different standards...  YES GCHQ has worked closely with their American counterparts... we have always had a close relationship with AMerica.. but we aren't America.. and we do play fair.. believe differently if you like but lets not judge others based on our own standards here eh..

GCHQ have denied it. categorically. ..and dunno about the standards you are used to but our intelligence service doesn't lie.. we have a lot more accountability here and we have a lot more freedom of information... so if they were implicated it wouldbe found out... and it would be reported... that's kinda how it is..

However, being that we do have certain standards here.. the accusation, the completely illfounded and rather nutso suggestion that we were implicated.. WILL have an impact on trust.. as the article said.. put simply.. Americans accusing our intelligence services will NOT go down well...and this will impact on how the country and our intelligence services view requests for collaboration in future..

But hey you believe whatever conspiracy theory that works for you.. lol you have my permission.. doesn't make it so

No one thinks it's a good idea to shift the blame to GCHQ, including The White House
