    Thanks.  He seems to be getting better.  Just mad at me now.  He acts like I'm trying to kill him when I try to groom him in any way.  He shows all the signs of a dog that was abused and not socialized in any way.  At some point, he will finally get the message that I won't hurt him and that he isn't going to be abandoned again.  It would be nice if that realization came sooner rather than later. lol.
