    As a kid in the Northeast---absolutely.

    But here in North Texas, I have to settle for my home made clamp dip that I make with minced (or even whole) clams

    I don't know. I never tried clams. I had oysters once in 1974. The only thing I remember is that none of them wiggled on the way down. That possibility had occurred to me when I started.
