Umm aren't there somethings we do without knowing why we are doing, Zack?

A few years ago I did something and had no idea why I did it. There were repercussions that I paid dearly for.

It happens.....that is human nature, we have no control sometimes...

No. But if I think of it afterwards, there are usual "simple" explanations: anger, revenge, fear, lack of confidence, etc.

Yes, it is during flashback mode that things register better.

  • No, too often one may act with no understanding of why he has done so.  Often an exasperated parent or teacher will ask a kid, "Why did you do that?" and be answered, "I don't know."  This is not an evasion or ruse.  Often one really doesn't know, even as an adult.

True, whether one is a kid or an adult, certain things sometimes happen which are beyond our control. This post was edited by Veena.K at March 21, 2017 9:47 PM MDT

Your answer reminded me of a favorite video/song of mine.

This guy Matt travels the world and gets people to dance with him every several years. This is my favorite of the ones I've seen -- from 2012.
I love the song, I love the singer and I love all the people in it and Matt shares hope and love. He shows that, indeed, love can make the world go round.

You're welcome, WingedWonder. This song/video truly inspires me, moves me tremendously and brings me to tears of happiness and hope every time I watch/listen.

    Words really escape me.

I love everything about it all.

I'm sorry (I haven't forgotten about looking closer to the answers and comments you [and Zack-Mr.GenXer, too?] gave to one of my questions the other day )- - I'm sorry I must sign off again. Work has been really draining me these past weeks - -  all in a good way - - but I must go lie down. Uh . . . let me know if you and Zack are joining me.

    ;)

Oh such wondrous thoughts, I'm happy to have met you Winged Wonder. your optimism and cheerfulness is infectious in a good way. This World is bereft of love, selfishness grips us and greed consumes us. May your magnanimity serve as a beacon to many.Amen!

  • Always. Well, usually. At the very least, sometimes.

I gotta confess that when I look back at some of my less-gracious answers I wonder why I didn't just shut up.

  • Interesting question ... With many possibilities ... For example in western culture it was or is traditional for the groom to carry the new bride into the house ... But how many have asked why is a tradition.... Relax I'm going to spill the beans :)
In Rome it was considered really bad luck if the bride tripped when entering her new house for the first time, so to avoid this the groom would carry her over the threshold to avoid any tripping ...
So apart from cultural traditions there are also deep and generally unknown psyscological drives at work ...

  • Ah.. WW... Thank you but i think you are smarter!
There are two kinds of people in life, those that think people can be divided into two kinds and those that don't lol ... But seriously, stop laughing now! ...  There are two kinds... Those that live life, You! And those that read about life (no comment here lol) ... For you
