Trump blames Dems for TRUMPCARE defeat and whines "we couldn't get one Democratic vote"! The TEA PARTY didn't support it. WHY?

DONALD J. TRUMP is apparently IGNORANT of the fact that the Affordable Health Care Act passed WITHOUT ONE REPUBLICAN VOTING FOR  IT! Trump utterly failed to get his own party to support it. He struck out bigtime. All the strongarming/bullying/threats didn't move The Tea Party. The Dems had nothing to do with it. Since Truth is Dead in Trumpworld why does it matter what he says?

Rosie your attitude here is just ridiculous. You demand compromise and then when he compromises you spit in his face for even trying.

This is perfect example of why the right should never compromise. This is what happens when one offers an olive branch to the left. You lose the support of the conservatives and you gain NOTHING. I hope Trump has learned a lesson here.

This is a war for the future of humanity and idealistic visions of society coming together are just fantasy. Trump should just rally his base and repeal Obamacare.

He promised compromise in the campaign and true to his word he offered it. I now hold him released from that promise. This post was edited by Zeitgeist at March 26, 2017 9:43 AM MDT

Most people around the world see Trump as the threat to the future of humanity, but that is not what you meant. I don't know where Trump compromised with anyone, or offered an olive branch to the left. Repeal Obamacare and replace it with what, or are millions of Americans just to be dumped and denied health coverage? I'm glad we Brits have the NHS. Rosie stated, correctly, as I understand it, that the affordable care act passed without one Republican voting for it. In other words, she was highlighting the fact that Trump does not have the support of his own party. Frankly, Zeitgeist, I don't know what you are going on about here, and I don't get why anyone would support Trump. I would love to be proven wrong about him, and for him to prove to be a wonderful president, both for his country and the wider world, but I don't think that will happen. He doesn't have a clue, in my opinion. This post was edited by HarryDemon at March 27, 2017 10:15 AM MDT

Socialist healthcare is unsustainable. Any society that has it will collapse economically. It's just a matter of time.

The NHS is somewhat more sustainable because of other factors like lower military spending than the U.S.. Though the U.K. still slides deeper into debt year on year. Some day, in the not too distant future, it all comes crashing down and people will be starving in the street like Venezuela.

    http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/02/10/venezuelans-killing-flamingos-and-anteaters-to-stave-off-hunger-amid-mounting-food-crisis.html

No right winger ever has the support of his party. We are individualists who vote on principle not sheep who follow cults of personality. Trumpcare was a RINO bill. It was trying to compromise with leftists. It was a mistake. Trump should stop trying to unite the U.S.. The left never compromise so he shouldn't either. He should just crush the left and get the economy going. This post was edited by Zeitgeist at March 27, 2017 1:26 PM MDT

In my opinion, Trump couldn't crush a grape, Zeitgeist.
The UK will not end up like Venezuela. That country got in the state it is in because everything there was state owned. The NHS is about the only thing that is still state controlled over here. I agree with you that out-and-out socialism is unsustainable, but that is not what the UK has. Labour tried it in the old days, made a mess of everything, and now, that model of politics can't get elected, certainly not in England. In your own country, the state, as you pointed out yourself, spends money on the military, and services like the police and fire fighters are state funded. In my country, there is also the NHS. It is the job of the state to care for its citizens, and all of these things constitute fulfilling that duty.
In any case, the real argument here is not about socialism versus anything else. It is about the fact that Trump is a joke figure who does not know what he is doing. The only values he has are his own self-interest. As I said before, I would love to be proven wrong, but I don't think I will be.

I know. Blame the Democrats, indeed! Ha! His own party have control of both houses, and they didn't even vote on his dumb-ass bill, because it wouldn't have passed.
