It is okay to cover a poison ivy rash on arms with cloth or something to prevent scratching?

Like a tight sleeve or will that cause spreading?

    The condition is well known: the irritant is urushiol and the treatment is soap and water. Next time you won't be so casual about brushing against greasy yellow or red leaves.
