    Where have you been?  This has been going on for a bit.
    Personally, I'd like to see the entire US breakup...All of New England can then go our merry as a separate, sovereign country and we'll take NY with us.  As the most civilized & educated region of the US other than Cali, Oregon, and Washington state, we would do very well by ourselves.

    Texans can then go shoot each other and battle the Mexicans on their own

    The US is an archaic mess not worthy or capable of being a unified country anymore.
