Rewrite! What if MacBeth had been victorious at Dunsinane?

    For your re-write, I am going to say that even if MacBeth had won at Dunsinane, not much would have changed...
    By that time, he was so steeped in superstition and guilt, also had lost the support of his lady in her suicide...even had he won, he would have found a way to turn that into a defeat so that what he now saw as his fate could just continue downward.



    She should have died hereafter;
    There would have been a time for such a word.
    — To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
    Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
    To the last syllable of recorded time;

  • Whoa!  I like this.  It is a good perspective.  I was thinking more along the line of MacBeth crushing the insurgence and becoming more despotic.  Your post is more inline with the established play.
