Religious members, what do you say?

In an emergency would you accept rites performed by a cleric from another religion or even a non ordained individual? Example, if you are Catholic would you consider it efficacious for a rabbi to read the rite of extreme unction?  Would you speak your last confession to a bystander?

  • I'm Christian so I believe in direct communication with God instead of through a person. A Catholic priest, a Jewish Rabbi, or Allah himself can stand at my death bed for all I care; I won't be giving any of them my confession. They might hear a dirty joke or a pitch to drink Mountain Dew, but probably not a confession.

    I am religious, in my own way...
    Sometimes my communion is direct - as for example I left my lifetime confession in a cave on a mountain in Arizona. Other times, it does seem that just the right person shows up, at exactly the right time. And the ordination, the denomination, nor the credentials of the individual has nothing to do with anything.
