The rustle of leaves and wisp of pine needles and branches in the wind makes me stop what whatever I am doing or thinking about to listen.  It's great to fall asleep to too.  That's why I have a mattress in the back of my van so I can go sleep in the woods when the weather is right. • I, too, find the sounds of the sea to be soothing. The sea has a special mystique all it's own. A combination of power and mystery. I also find rain falling on a tin roof to be helpful in easing one off to sleep.

There are a number of things I find soothing but I think the my favorite is the noise a babbling brook makes.  I have one running through my property and it's sounds are ever changing.  Now, it's springtime here and the melting snow running down the mountain and through the woods, has made the brook come to life with a roar.  Over the course of the next couple of months, it slows down.  When it is warm enough, my windows are wide open and, at night, there is nothing more comforting and soothing than listening to that brook talk to me.

Although not mine, this one is very close to what it looks and sounds like

    for me, personally
    the most soothing thing
    is
    being without Ego,
    being in the waves
    of the light of oneness
    in meditation....
    purely soothing. LOL
