Pronunciation drill: how do you usually pronounce the bold underlined words below?


Barry wants to ask Mary to marry him, if she says yes, he will feel as merry as a berry, but if she does not, he will bury his head in shame.

    The last syllables  of each are pronounced the same, but if he buries his head in shame he will suffocate and Mary can merrily marry Larry.
