Can a United States CITIZEN be stripped of his/her citizenship? By whom and why?

  • If they renounce their citizenship....That should be the only way.  Right or wrong, let's not open that box. The Trumplatytes want to do just that, strip people of their citizenships. That way they can send political dissidents or whatever to their black-op sites, torture and murder them

That why I asked the question JG. I read that is what Doofus Donny wants to do. I just wondered if he could. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday! :)

  • Thanks for posting that. I didn't mention the first reason because they never gained their citizenship legally to begin so therefore...they aren't citizens. yeah?

Really? Thank you for that info Thriftymaid. I appreciate it. So what was given can be taken away. But when one is natural-born it is citizen for life? :)

  • I seriously doubt if anyone is stripped of citizenship. There was a time when you lost your citizenship for the span of time served in prison. If non citizens are allowed to enjoy the benefits of citizenship, (minus the paying of taxes of course), then it becomes a moot point. U S citizenship has been cheapened to the point of being worthless or meaningless. It's certainly nothing to strive for if so many among us need not worry about having it.

I read that Trump would like to do that very thing for those who commit certain crimes. I don't know the details. I didn't pursue it. But of course anyone  Doofus Donny thinks is against him would be a perfect candidate! Thank you for your reply driftwood and Happy  Friday! :)

The Nazi's did it to German-born Jews in WW2. If a government makes the rules, I guess they can change them too. Anytime they feel like it.

I know the Nazis gassed the Jews righty but I did not know they also stripped them of their citizenship. Completely obliterated them from the earth physically and legally.  Think Trump has the right stuff to do that? Anyone whom he considers to be his enemy would be a likely candidate. He has lots of those I guess doesn't he? Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday! :)

    Hi Rosie:

First Jews and other "undesirables" - German Communists, Socialists, Social Democrats, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals, and people accused of 'asocial' or socially 'deviant' behavior by the Germans - were stripped of civil rights and citizenship, then they were packed onto trains and shipped off to wonderful places in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, and the Ukraine such as Auschwitz-Birkenau, Belzec, Bergen-Belsen, Buchenwald, Dachau, Janowska, Majdanek, Sobibor, Theresienstadt, and Treblinka. Once there, they were forced into slave labor, exterminated, or both.

    Here's an interesting Wikipedia item:

The concentration camps are not to be confused with the extermination camps which were designed and built exclusively to kill prisoners on a massive scale immediately upon arrival. The extermination camps of Operation Reinhard such as Belzec, Sobibor, and Treblinka served as "death factories" in which German SS and police murdered nearly 2,700,000 Jews either by asphyxiation with poison gas or by shooting. Meanwhile, the concentration camps listed herein served primarily as detention and slave labor exploitation centers. Most of them were destroyed by the Germans in an attempt to hide the evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity; nevertheless tens of thousands of prisoners sent on death marches were liberated by the Allies afterward.
