Not even through April and already had to cut the damn grass and the thick, sticky, slimey, ball-sack dragging has started.

It's so gross.   84, humid, and  not even the whisper of a breeze.

Anyone know what  jobs are in Iqaluit,  Nunavut?

I figure it's going to get a lot worse.  I'm expecting a heat wave, since my a/c has been co-opted.

There should be some big tornado action coming anytime. Those should tear your lawn up for you.

  • Tornados aren't a big issue in NY.  The state gets a few a year on average but are small and short lived. That's statewide as well.  They rarely amount to much.   The last one I was near amounted to like $35,000 of total damage and was years ago.  The chances of seeing a tornado is exceptionally rare.

Oh, I didn't know you live in NY. For some reason, I'm not sure why, I thought you lived out in the Midwest.

You've no worries then....except for the high temps.

  • No worries.   We are kinda similar to the Midwest in speech, culture, and lifestyle.    Rustbelt cities past their glory  surrounded by corn and dairy.

We had snow this morning. It's not unheard of in April in Minnesota, but it's still not something I enjoy. I would love a nice 84 degree day.

Yeah, not even through April and we're already getting highs of just 19C (66F) and getting colder. I'm in a sweater and have dragged the jacket out of mothballs.

Why the hell are you complaining when the temperature hasn't even hit 30C/ 86Fyet? At 84F I haven't even broken a sweat. Try Adelaide in summer, 105F is common and we got to 118 a couple years back. I actually prefer that to just above freezing (it never snows here, the temperature only goes below 40F when there are no clouds to hold the daytime heat in).
