What does emotionally unavailable mean exactly? It's a term bandied about ... but what does it mean in reality? How might it manifest?

For example a mother who is not emotionally available...  doesn't have to be a mother, could be partner, father, brother or friend... how might such a person behave?

    You are right ... I am sure.. and you seem to really KNOW what it means... I suspect it's a term that was originally coined in America.. so to you it makes sense.. but I don't really know what it means.. I've an idea... but nothing specific... like I have no idea what that would look like.. how it manifests..
