Right..“You’re entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts” ~ Sometimes attributed to the late NY Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D)

I think it's a nifty quote Beans/SG. But Moynihan never met THE DONALD and Kellyanne Conway and others  of similar like-minded ILK who sincerely embrace/believe "alternative facts" We used to call them LIES.  Whatever The Donald says is their only truth. Never mind that he flip-flops constantly and the "truth" is ever changing/ever contradictory. Somehow they grasp all of that and LOVE it. Go figger! I wonder what Moynihan would say to them about that? Thank you for your reply! :)

    No.

Logic does not make an opinion valuable---nor necessarily not valuable for that matter.  Logic simply assures that if your basic assumptions from which you reason are appropriate, then the conclusion of your syllogism is valid.  If your basic assumptions are wrong, the conclusion may still follow logically, but it is a useless conclusion.

And since it is a common experience that velocities add or subtract, it is was not plausible that the speed of light is a constant---and yet it seems to be so.
