To be fair, Savvy, a re-reading of what Righty wrote reveals that he wasn't calling autism a mental disorder, he merely mentioned it along with the same topic. It is added at the end as an aside.
You may be correct, I could be taking it out of context. I was shocked by the use of the term psychopathy and autism in the same sentence, especially with the word "even" thrown in there.
I'm not a fighter, but admit I can be a bit of a know-it-all. Especially if it's something I know, you know?
I didn't say mental illness anywhere...you did. I said "mental disorder" for psychopathy, and then after that, I said "or". And you don't have to tell me what autism is. I know all about it. It's with me everyday.
Now, about Donald Trump. We don't know what he has, or hasn't got because we're in no position to evaluate him. It's speculated by many that he has psychopathic traits. I agree he "may" be a psychopath, but he may not be. He may have something else, he may not. And because I have the inside knowledge about autism that many people don't, autistic traits appear a lot more obvious to me than they do to most people. I think Donald "could" be on the milder (what used to be diagnosed as Asperger's Syndrome) end of the spectrum. His son Baron may have it, too. And I know it is common in families. But, then again, neither of them may have it.
Again, I believe that I misunderstood what you said. I apologize for my reaction to what I thought was the classification of autism as a mental disorder/illness. I am also well acquainted with mental and developmental disorders, both personally and professionally. I hope your son and family have an excellent support system and that it isn't affected by any of the proposed changes to funding. I know this is a concern for many of us.
Regarding Trump, I think it's highly unlikely that he's on the spectrum, but it is possible. I believe he's proven himself to be a narcissistic, misogynistic bigot, and regardless of any possible legitimate diagnoses, I think he's despicable. As for his youngest son, I find it outrageous that people are publicly speculating about him having a developmental disorder such as autism. Minor children of ANYONE should be off limits as subjects of gossip, in my opinion.
Strange! Well it depends how you define strange, he's different from other Presidents that's for sure but he said it would be a different Presidency. Different is not always wrong it's just different but we tend to reject things for that very reason.
