The suburbs I guess. I hate the city and hope to never live in it ever again.

  • Both.  depends on the time of year.   Hopefully I can finally purge myself of the city and suburbs sooner that later.

I live in an area that isn't incorporated but the county is like a small town.  We have great police, schools, and fire protection all without that extra layer of bureaucracy and tax.  It feels kind of like a suburb without the a nearby large city.  Well, there are good sized cities 40 miles both North and South of us.  I love it here.

I am not quite sure what you guys would call it.. here I live in a village and the village is near to a medium sized town.. not really near any city.. Not really country either but not far from country.. Sadly our countryside is very fast disappearing, we are a tiny, tiny island and especially in the part where i am very overcrowded.

We probably have more people in our co-op complex than some folks have in their entire towns. :)

I'm a country girl.  My house is 7 miles from the closest city which only has ~1300 people.  It's technically incorporated as a city but it just sounds wrong calling a place with just under 1300 people a city.  The closest Walmart is 31 miles away. I live in the country. I never felt comfortable going in the city, especially since the closest city has a big problem with crime and drive by shootings. I remember when I first started driving, I got lost and accidentally ended up in the spooky city. That was frightening.

The suburbs of a relatively small city, Adelaide has a total population  (including the suburbs) of about 1.3 million.

My better half is a country girl, from a little place called Marrar. Some say it's a hundred miles from nowhere, but it's closer to nowhere than that. (It's actually 25 miles from Wagga Wagga).

It's complicated...lol.  I actually live about 3 miles outside the city limits now, though I retain the city as my mailing address...but I'm about 2 miles from a village where my township offices are...and while those across the street are more like a suburb, my direct neighbors on this side of tbe road and I have 2-1/2, 2-1/2, 5, 5, and 10 acres.  I'm one of the 5s...

  • In the suburbs I was raised and in the suburbs I live now. It's the perfect balance for me. I love visiting the country and the city, but either one is not my ideal living choice.

     and census-designated place (CDP)."
