Yes. The tongue acts as an excellent lube to loosen the ring from the finger into the mouth and into the waiting hand.

  • Yes.  Think of how many people might be feed with the money spent on clothing of the Pope and cardinals.  How many homeless people could be housed were the Pope and pals not living is such luxury?  These men are supposedly disciples of a peripatetic teacher who eschewed wealth.  Curious, no?

Francis is reputedly living a more austere life than many of his predecessors - including not occupying the Papal palace, but the far more modest guest house.

He did the same thing as bishop of Buenos Aires - shunning the See and living in a small apartment in downtown B.A..

Not really---a peripatetic preacher would have some difficulty carrying wealth around with him in such times.  Traveling light would be best.

  • But the Pope should be following the example and teachings of Jesus in such matters.

I'll kiss his ring. If he'll kiss my butt.

Grody. I read that in the distant past that people used to kiss his feet. Contrast the popes to Peter.

(Acts 10:26) But Peter lifted him up, saying: “Rise; I too am just a man.”
