President Mayhem vs. Sharonna

Since I don't drink alcohol, festivities around here carry with them a certain dissonance. As everybody gets more cheerful, and I stay the same. Until it is all over, when people has been put away and it's just me and the dog. We then, the dog and I, go out to the porch. I light up a joint, put on my headphones, pet the dog . . . listen. . . and everything is well.

Very nice, Lago.  Very nice, indeed.  I'm not sure which I'm more moved by, the video you posted or the sweet interaction between you and Lucia.  I almost feel like I'm interrupting here.  I remember the first time I was introduced to this song.  It was by Donna Summer.  She did her own take on the piece.  I am a lover of dance music so I gravitated toward it immediately.  Underneath all the bells and whistles that adorn club music however, there is still no escaping the beauty and power of the composition.  Thanks for sharing it and hopefully awakening ears, which may not have heard it before, to it's beauty.

Firstly, yes. Lucia is a very special person to me. Not many have the patience to deal with me when the Cold and the dark push away my optimism, and make me disappear into deep rabbit holes for days at a time.
Secondly, Thank you!!I did not know of that version. I wish she would have sung it in the original language tho. I still think it's fantastic. I truly thank you. I like finding new music. I think it i great. Listening to it now.
Third, Lee.Donna Summers, who else could have reached those note but her. Also, I did have my Donna Summers period, and every now and then I revisit it. Nothing like the thump of funk and the fat bass lines of disco to get over any broken heart. Here, Winged, this is for you. Thanks.

This was one of my mother's favorite. She would open the Windows and doors, and She and Quentin our "male" sitter, would sing this together top of their lungs. Thanks man, for helping me remember this.

    (Can you tell the movie?)

I must confess I had to seek the help of the all knowing Google to discover what movie that song appeared in.  If my online sluething is correct it's "Thank God It's Friday."  I have never seen it but I do know of it.  So funny that you mentioned your mother opening doors and windows in an effort to flood the surrounding areas with the boisterous sound of Donna Summer.  My mother was notorious for doing just the oppostie by making me shut my bedroom door in an effort to contain it.  There's no denying the power of music.  I have many times wrapped myself up in it and worn it like armour as protection against the onslaught of sadness.  Winter is a long journey, Lago.  Travel through it with song, with prayer, and most importantly with friends.  Wrap the cool winter light around your dreams and they will warm it from the inside out.  A more comforting season lies ahead, within reach, and always within the heart.

That's right. Would you believe I went to the movies to watch that?
And yes, just as I was throwing punches at the end of Rocky, I was throwing dance moves at the.end of TGIF.
    Thanks Welby!
