Y'all elected an ENFANT TERRIBLE as president. Gonna go that route again because you can't get enough of him?

ENFANT TERRIBLE

An incorrigible CHILD as one whose behavior is embarrassing. An outrageously outspoken or bold person who says and does indiscreet or irresponsible things. A person whose work, thought or lifestyle is so unconventional or avant garde as to appear revolutionary or shocking.

You don't DARE do otherwise m2c. If you did you would regret it very bigly. The don and his minions would hound you and your family forever calling you RINOS. He is an elephant. He NEVER forgets a slight and you would be immediately on his HIT LIST. Good girl. Better do as you are ordered to do or the consequences for you and your family will be dire. I'd miss ya frankly. Stay inside the lines. Don't ad lib. Follow the script. Be a very good girl! Thank you for your reply! :)

Rosie implied that I am scared or intimidated into voting for Trump. If that were the case I would make it a point to vote against that candidate. We have secret ballot to allow people to vote their opinion and not forced to vote someone else's.

My answer to this question or any other question has nothing at all to do with whether I dare or don't dare say anything and you should know that by now. I say that Trump will be reelected for two main reasons. One, because of the economic boom and the other campaign promises he kept or tried to keep, no thanks to the Democrats. Two he will be reelected because the Democratic party has nobody running for President that has a chance of winning the office of school monitor let alone President of the United States. The Democratic Party is broken, leaderless and weak and needs to be fixed before it implodes completely.

Funny, in 2016, people were predicting a similar fate for the republicans.

What do you think the popular vote deficit of his "victory" will be this time? 4 million votes? 5 million votes?

If Joe Biden somehow gets nominated, I would agree with your prediction.

If the nominee is Sanders or Warren, I think it might produce a turnout surge similar to the 2018 election (I had to wait in line 1.5 hours to vote) which would produce a 2016-like result in the popular vote.

Whether that's enough to overcome the structural disadvantage the Electoral College imposes on the Democratic Party, I don't know.

It will as always come down to which base turns out in the higher rate.

So far primaries are showing enthusiasm is high for Reps. But voting partication on Dem side is 2016 in IA.  Higher in NH.  With Trump beating records for an incombent Pres since Reagan.
Warren...will not make it past Super Tuesday.  And they will find a way to cheat Bernie again.  Mayor Lil Gulp will not get the job done.

To me, "y'all" implies the rest of us, people other than yourself. Is that not what you meant?

I could argue that the reason that the framers of our constitution wanted to avoid the phenomenon they feared of having an uninformed electorate like the current Trump supporters being in the majority and thus electing Trump is precisely why the electoral college exists..

Add that to those who don't understand that there are much more important issues to weigh in an election than policies---and we have our current situation.

Edit---added the 3 words I left out. This post was edited by tom jackson at February 17, 2020 12:44 PM MST
