Do you know any Hebrew letters?

Alas, I know only aleph, א.

Ari and I went to a kabbalistic workshop about six months ago.
It explored the meaning of aleph according to the three systems of Kabbalah.

It fascinating to discover how Kabbalists use the Hebrew alphabet as a means of exploring the nature of their god.

If I were living in Israel, I'd make the effort to learn to read, write and speak Hebrew, but where I am I have no need for it.

Ari grew up with it and is still fluent.

  No. It irked me recently because it was a crossword puzzle clue and it stumped me. Grrrrrr.

I used some in mathematics and learned the alphabet and some vocabulary for a trip to the Holy Land in 2000.  I was a hero for knowing the word שֵׁרוּתִים (toilets) at a stop on the bus tour. 

It's nearly all forgotten by now. 

 

ש Shin. Shin also stands for the word Shaddai, a name for God. Because of this, a kohen (priest) forms the letter Shin with his hands as he recites the Priestly Blessing.

It is also the shape of the chambers in the human heart.
