Few people in history have been as impactful on the world as was Jefferson. His place on Mt Rushmore is well-earned.
As a graduate of UVA which Jefferson founded, I personally hold him in the highest regard. Why his birthday goes largely unobserved is an injustice IMO, but then, this is the case with many major historical figures. Why don’t we observe Thomas Edison’s birthday, for example?
