Are you doing anything for Earth Day?

Today is Earth Day so I will be helping clean up a Alder tree grove,  Alder trees are one of the best  trees for taking in carbon  and turing it into oxagine . Cheers and happy  Earth day!

Yup. Trying to get streaming live drone coverage or I might just walk the day away to the Boston Common 4 miles away. I do that. Walk on a whim. This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at April 22, 2020 11:26 AM MDT

Maybe you could make a stick with a nail in it and pick up litter on your Earth day walk. Cheers and happy Earth day!

Same as I do every year. I cut down a tree in the park, burn leaves and brush in my back yard (legal here) and pour used motor oil down the storm drain.

Well I hope you at least use the leaf ash for your garden.  Cheers and happy Earth day!

  • I regularly donate to reforest California, but today I donated twice my usual monthly donation to plant trees in wildfire-stricken areas.

Just appreciating my good fortune to live in a magnificent natural environment in this tiny spot on the Earth.

I do at least some work for the environment every day, so I don't make a special day of it. This post was edited by inky at April 24, 2020 11:04 AM MDT

I made a card, openface, on blue recycled cardstock paper. I drew a picture of the Earth and stars and poster-stye lettering "Happy Earth Day" for my bosses and their 1 year old.   I gave them a hand towel which I decorated with painted waves, the sun, sand, seals, and dolphins.
I planted 6 iceplants and I donated 20 bucks to cleaning the oceans.

Yes, I am filling my pockets with earth. I feel the end is near, and whether I am to be beamed away to some distant planetary system, or blasted into the abyss when Earth disappears in a massive explosion of glowing magma, I will have something to remember my old home planet by.

Of course, while I am all for planting trees and I do not mean pine monocultures all over the high moors and fells, what happens to the tree when it dies?

In life it absorbs Carbon Dioxide and uses it to form plant proteins and sugars. After death of its leaves or the entire tree, its proteins etc. break back down into simple compounds for release into the wilds, including... Carbon Dioxide!
