No, that is the answer to the question "Who was River Phoenix?". That wasn't the question I asked. Try again, Jewels.

Hmm. Googling it seems to take me to the rivers Salt River and Gila River, but I suspect they are in the right State because of the city of Phoenix in Arizona. I guess you are on the right track, LynnCal. Lol:) This post was edited by Bez at September 29, 2016 7:18 PM MDT

Sad loss.  Great actor.  Dead before his time.

Hahahahaha!!  There's only one River Phoenix and he was an actor.  To the best of my knowledge.

Are you telling me there isn't a river called the River Phoenix? Not even in Arizona? That's where I imagined there would be such a river. I thought the actor was named "River" for that reason. Lol:)

  • I think the closest one to Phoenix is the Gila River...about 200km west.

River Phoenix's parents named him after the river of life from the Hermann Hesse novel Siddhartha.  Siddhartha crosses a river, and the generous ferryman, whom Siddhartha is unable to pay, merrily predicts that Siddhartha will return to the river later to compensate him in some way.  This post was edited by flipper at September 30, 2016 1:33 PM MDT
