Do you envy musicians especially piano players?

I tried to learn guitar, never could get it. I did learn to play 'chopsticks' on piano, but that is all, and I don't own a piano. My brother-in-law is an excellent pianist. So all I have done is write lyrics, one that won second place in a contest sponsored by a magazine.

No. I am a musician, having studied flute, piano, and voice.

      Is voice an instrument?

Of course. There is just as much technique and practice as with any instrument.

What's to note? I generally choose to use it.

I am firmly in the camp opposed to it, but we can get Randy D to adjudicate.

Both ways are correct. When I worked as a newspaper editor, we went by the AP Style Manual, which dictated not using it. But I prefer to use it because it can make a sentence less confusing.

I love the sound of a piano.  All keyboards.  I had the opportunity to learn and took lessons.  Unfortunately, at that time I was more interested in being a rebellious teenager.

Piano is one of my favorite instruments to listen to.

I wouldn't say I envy them ... but I do wish I had continued my piano lessons when I was younger.
(I stopped because my parents got me a recorder for my birthday, rather than the promised guitar.)
I've tried a few times to resume lessons, but just can't seem to keep with it when teaching myself ... and it's difficult finding teachers for adults, locally.

I admire those who are able to play well ... especially if they can play multiple instruments well.

A little bit but then I start thinking that a piano player couldn't hold a candle to my hot Air Guitar  licks. Cheers!

I especially don't like piano music :P I once had a friend who insisted on taking me to piano concerts. I would always fall asleep. I only ever got away with this behaviour because he always fell asleep too!

Yes, because I have absolutely no natural music-related talent whatsoever. I can neither play any instrument nor sing, and even though I love music very much, I have learned that my appreciation for it is similar to comparing a blind person and a person who can only see black and white. When it comes to music, I am the latter: I do better than a blind person, but even I don’t know what all I’m missing.

No but I have an affinity for them.

Shortly after meeting an upright bass player in the not-too-distant past, I was reassured by a woman who claimed to be psychic that he was not the one for me. She told me I would meet a pianist this summer and he would be the one. Sigh. Not being the type to sit around, I promptly messaged every pianist on the dating site I was on. Not a single one of them wrote back.

Hindsight, maybe I shouldn't have told them I was writing to them on a psychic's advice and that they were my soul mate? :p

Anyway, if any of you know a single and straight male pianist, send him my way. lol

    • Wait, you need a single straight male penis?  It’s attached to me, but I’ll be right there to give it to you!
