In general what do you do with books you've read?

Do you keep them? Do something else with them or what?

In general unless it’s a huge favorite of mine, I donate it to our local pharmacy that sells used books for charity of the month, or pass it onto a friend to read.

I’m just curious on what others do.

  • I hold on to my favorites. If I know it's not something I'll even consider reading again then I will donate to Goodwill.

I only buy paperbacks.  After reading them, I send them to Operation Gratitude and they include them in care packages sent to the troops.

Keep the ones that have a "reread" aura about them. There's also a swap library at our local mall - you donate a book and pick up another. That's popular.

When I've read a book I generally write across the flyleaf 'THIS IS A NYCE BOOK. IT HAS BEEN READ BY ELIAS' .  .  .  .  .  then I return it to the library.

I'm a hoarder, but faced with a move to downsize I'm down to my last few hundred books.
