Have you ever wondered about the origin and history of American Cheese?

Americans are processed and full of crap? Is that what the rest of the cheese-eating world is trying to say?

American cheese is terrible.

I think American/North America cheese is good but foreign cheeses have more interesting flavors. Had a teacher in high school from England who said most of our cheese is 'processed junk'.

It is processed junk. Not all cheese produced in America, but what is known as "American cheese". Yuck.

    I don't think about what's in it.
I just know it's good from a spray can.

    LOL

So, we're "Easy" as well, then.

    Sad.

Last night was the first time I ever did. Amazing the thoughts that come into your head when you've been smoking the wacky tobacky.

Ah, perhaps that's why I never wondered - never smoked wacky tobacky. :)

I highly recommend edibles over smoking. All the rewards, none of the coughing.

Thanks, but I'm not into edibles or anything else that gets me high.

I hear that. I wouldn't do it every day, but once in a while it's fun. When I partake, I often feel like I'm somehow smarter, or just more in tune. Total opposite of drinking alcohol, and so much healthier!

People give the word 'processed' a bad rap. ALL CHEESE IS PROCESSED. Unprocessed cheese is called milk.

American cheese is a mixture of two or more cheeses, mainly cheddar. I don't like it. It is much too salty.

    True.

It's called "cheese food", too. What does that mean?? It's sort of cheese, sort of food?

I like salt, but I don't like that crap known as American cheese. Nasty.

It is food...just not for me. Give me a slice of Swiss on that burger.

Boar's Head makes a low sodium American cheese which is what I buy.

The rest of the cheese-eating world doesn't make American cheese, so the rest of the cheese-eating world isn't "trying to say" anything.

It was a joke. Obviously, it didn't land.

But seriously... do you like American cheese? Like, Kraft singles type cheese? The stuff they used to give out to income-challenged folks?

    Ugh.

Why? You don't always have much of a choice when something's free.

I don't eat cheese really. I have been to the Tillamook Cheese Factory though in Tillamook, Oregon. It is quite a process, fun to look at, and a nice place. They have the best cheese curds too.
