There is horrible weather, no mountains, desert or ocean nearby. Boring is a good term.  Where I used to live there was so much to do that didn't cost a lot of money like a walk on the beach & watching the wild life.

Try San Diego instead. (Wink, nudge.)

Only thing I can think of is I can’t go for a walk late at night Cos I’m afraid of the wolves, foxes and fishers. I’m mostly afraid of the fishers.

You better stick around this time. So much to learn!!

You've nothing to fear from foxes or fishers. Do you really live where wolves could be a threat to a human? That's cool.

Anyway... you should fear the humans you might encounter, not the other animals! :)

Fishers are terrifying to me lol. They‘ll eat right through your screen door. Yep have wolves around and coyotes. more so coyotes but I have a hard time telling the difference.

They're like raccoons! You're so funny! They aren't going to attack you.

Seriously... it's the humans you gotta look out for. :)

There is a bird called a fisher, but I now know what you are talking about. I forgot about those giant mink-like creatures.

Too many homeless people living on the street.
    ...sign of the times.

Only one decent restaurant within a short car ride.
Nobody knows much about anything except baseball, football, TV programs and performers.
Most other features of life here are fair to middling. And there is always the Internet and email to expand ones horizons.

Why not move?  It does sound less than desirable.

The police department, sheriff’s department and highway patrol are missing in action when it comes to enforcement of traffic laws here. I don’t know if so many people scoff at the vehicle code due to lack of enforcement, or if lack of enforcement creates the situation of so many people scoffing at the vehicle code.

Rampant litter and pollution. It’s one of those lip-service issues wherein everyone talks about how bad it is and what to do about it, but little action is ever taken. [I run my own personal one-man clean-up campaigns. I’m always out and about both near to and far from my home picking up litter.]

Homelessness. There are both natural (nice weather) and man-made (magnet programs) that attract homeless people from outside areas to San Diego, adding to the ever-increasing population of homeless San Diego denizens.

    Too much street noise.

The play area for a YMHA is directly across from my bedroom window and I listen to screeching kids from 8:30 AM until 6:00 PM - makes me hope for rain every weekday.

All of the drug users, transients, and homeless all around the city streets. Otherwise I mostly love my area and town.
