  • They're great as long as you're not the guest that checks it out the night before the wedding and sees that the only item left is the $400 gold diamond encrusted salad bowl.

Who told you to wait until the last minute?

By the way, Kvo, ol’ pal, my wife and I would like to thank you once again for your gift to us of the gold- and diamond-encrusted salad bowl. We sold it for $300, which went immediately into the tilde fund.

I think they're great! They solve the mystery of what to get a couple that have been living together forever. This post was edited by Echooos at September 13, 2020 5:32 PM MDT

They're a good way to simplify the gift process.

A VERY good idea. I wish the internet had been invented before my wife and I got married - we got four cutlery sets.

They're really not suitable for harems, are they?

We here at The Harem prefer to be showered with lavish gifts of the highest quality and of top dollar value, without the peasant-like practice of creating a list from which the worshippers may choose. Now go peel me a grape.

I'm old enough to remember when brides only registered their silver and china preferences. I guess that's why I'm a little uncomfortable with the long lists of 'acceptable' gifts. I know they're convenient and useful and help prevent duplicate gifts, so in theory, I should like them.

I have found that a cash gift is always useful, always the right size, can be used for whatever the couple needs/wants, is never returned and is always the right color.  I don't drive myself nuts with this stuff and I never have.

I don't think I have ever even looked at anyone's registry.

I usually come up with a good gift that the person/people like.
