Hopefully not, I'm thinking. All that I can place in my memory is milk that has soured. YUCK!

No cow's milk, whole or otherwise, should have an odor if it's fresh.  When it turns, it smells sour.

Thanks.  I agree with that.  If I smell anything at all it goes down the drain.

An “odor” as in a bad smell or an offensive smell, or a “scent” as in a smell by which it can be identified or distinguished?  One of the ways that I can detect whether milk is safe to drink or if it has spoiled us by smelling it. As such, the fresh or good scent is quite different than the soured or curdled or spoiled odor.

    It's a simple question.

It's an ambiguous question, because the word "odor" has more than one definition or connotation.  That's ok, however, because my answer covers the range of possibilities as to what you may have meant.  It's an equally simple answer.

Not ambiguous at all.  Odor.  Things have an odor or they don't.

I don't know what fresh milk smells like. I never drink it.

It has a cold dairy cooler type odor. You can definitely tell when it's gone bad. This post was edited by Nightwolf5 at September 13, 2020 5:00 PM MDT
